Welcome to femcel memes. A place where anybody can post memes that fit the vibe.

Warning: We have a tendency to post things that may at times come from a self-deprecating perspective or things that are funny coming from another queer person. This space will always be a safe place for transfems, non-binary people, people with a feminine gender expression (GNC or otherwise) or anybody else in the LGBT Community to come together and share about our experiences but we truly feel that laughing about the sometimes silly and embarrassing parts the queer experience can help bring us together. We never mean offense or harm in anything posted but rather they are satirical takes coming from queer people.

A note about 'Egging': Our community is mostly made up of transfem individuals, and as such most memes posted will be posted with the intention of having a transfem perspective. However, regardless of gender identity, all feminine presenting individuals are welcome here. Whether that means you're NB, GNC, transmasc, or any other identity, you are welcome here. It is not our intention or goal to invalidate these identities. If something makes you uncomfortable, please feel free to report the post and I will address your concerns on an individual level. For more information regarding the problems with 'Egg-culture', please see Here.

Love Y'all and thank you for following this community

Complexion? Wait, really? Is that what my problem has been for the last 20+ years?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Learning slowly to do this

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (4 children)

We would, but water tastes disgusting.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Real, I used to live in a place with really good water, but now I moved and the water sucks :(

Filtering it helps though.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Oof.

Yeah, definitely does. We use both a filtering jug and a filtering bottle.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fun fact, beer is typically at least 90% water

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Too bad we don't drink alcohol. 😁

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

There are alcohol free beers ya know?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes, but in our experience we are sensitive to even the tiniest drop of alcohol, and usually they contain some.

Also we are allergic to gluten.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Well the gluten allergy is a conpletely different story then.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

most water tastes disgusting i agree, my autism prevents me from ignoring it, but i cant just drink arizona green tea all day~

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Yeah, that is more accurate. Thanks!

Coincidently we dislike most tea too as it just tastes like dirty water to us, heh.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (3 children)

It should be tasteless? For me it tastes like cold

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I may be over reading this but I don't think they were actually talking about water

Edit : my bad, just saw their other comments and they WERE just talking about water. Leaving my comment as proof of my shame

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Thanks for joining in. However, our pronouns are cele/celes, as it says in our profile 🙂

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sorry, I just edited my comment accordingly

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Thank you, we really appreciate that! <3

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

You're going to have a hard time expecting that in a public forum where people generally don't bother to even read usernames. Especially when cele/celes are such unusual pronouns that it doesn't register as pronouns to most readers.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

So you are saying we should just be okay with people misgendering us and not paying attention to anything we have bothered putting in time to write?

If so that attitude completely stinks and isn't helpful for driving things forward.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You and your pronouns are ofc valid, but it's unfortunately not feasible to go into everyone's profile in a forum like this.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

We do before referring to others external to us. We don't understand why that's so difficult for others.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Because the anonymity and impersonalness of this site is what makes it much more accessible to many of us than non-anonymous social media. Some of us have an easier time interacting with ideas if it's impersonal. Knowing who the people on the site are lessens the appeal and accessibility.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Well, what would you have us do? Not be shown basic respect by getting our pronouns (which ioo doesn't de-anonymise us as much as you seem to be implying) right or having to point out things time and time again until people 'get' it (for the other things in our profile)?

We personally think this is a silly argument and the point is the people, otherwise why would anyone or anymany come here if they weren't shown such basic respect?

Communities are not just about the ideas and discussions that make them up but the people that are a part of them. Else we might as well all just talk to 'AI' chat bots all day as that would provide the same experience as you seem to be implying is wanted by most.

It's worth bothering to care.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not all of us are neurotypical. Those of us who aren't and have differing needs deserve space. There is plenty of choice for non-anonymous social media.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We're not neurotypical either, so this argument doesn't work ioo.

Again, pronouns don't de-anonymise as much as you seem to be implying. They're just a politeness. A lot of us have fought long and hard for such things, to be told that all the work we have put in isn't worth it because others can't be bothered to do a simple click or tap and read is in our opinion erasure and we don't accept that in our communities.

Also we don't buy the idea that Lemmy is inherently meant to be anonymous to such extreme degrees, or at all. If you don't want to reveal yourself at all, that's fine. But we are fine having our pronouns etc out there and feel strongly that they should be respected and we're going to keep pointing them out.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There's many different types of neurodivergent with many different needs, and it hurts to be dismissed about that. I'm trans too and I never tried to convince you that your experience has got to be the same as mine. Going into profiles destroys the anonymous safe space for me. I just want to engage with posts and comments, not profiles. This is overwhelmingly the culture on here, and that's the reason why it's the only social media in comfortable using. There's plenty of social media that isn't like that.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

We sorry you're hurt. But we're also hurt by the idea that we can't get basic respect. So is our only solution to really write out our pronouns etc every single time? If so, so be it. Though that seems untenable for many here.

We also don't agree that that's the culture here. However, if it is then again, why should profiles even exist as an option? Maybe somebody should just open an issue to have them removed and we'll just have to tell people everything that would have been in them every time as seems to be the case anyway.

Edit: We feel comfortable using this social media because we can be who we really are, even if that's semi-anonymous you seem to be trying to push us to go to another where we're fully de-anonymised (which we don't want). But there is nothing we wish to use apart from this and other things on fedi: kbin, mbin, piefed and whenever it gets released sublinks will seemingly all have the same 'culture' but there's nothing else we want to use apart from fedi things. So what would you have us do?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Thank you. I'm also sorry you're hurt. Guess what I'm saying is, this is the ONE space I'm comfortable, BECAUSE profiles don't matter. Theres profiles so there's accountability and the option for bans so this doesn't become 4chan. Do you have a suggestion where I could go that's safe for me if this isn't it? I don't know of anything else.

Water is boring because it has no taste, but with practice you can appreciate the unique pleasure only a single oxygen and a pair of hydrogen can provide.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Saved this comment.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Most water has minerals, flouride etc especially from the tap.

The only way that water would be completely tasteless is if it was always run through a reverse osmosis filter.

This is why most water conducts electricity but if you had pure water it wouldn't because it wouldn't contain the necessary minerals to carry the electric current.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (2 children)

distilled water tastes terrible.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

That's an evolutionary response. Distilled water removes nutrients from your body.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

It actually kills the cells in your tastebuds, giving you a burning sensation after

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is true, but that still wouldn't explain why you think it tastes bad. My guess is that you never had good tasting water, which for the most part, just stays out of your way when drinking it.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

We're quite sensitive to taste in some ways so yeah, most tap water is awful. We have to filter it before drinking it.

Some bottled water is okay, but not all.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yeah, it isn't. It's full of minerals and other things. It's a common experience for autistic people/creatures, some don't taste anything or love the taste but some of us hate the taste.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Water mortality rate -> 100% So be carefull

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Meh, only about 93% of people who drink water died. Not safe by any means, but it's far from 100%.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

lol, don't dhmo.org us XD
