And this is why you don't have a round chambered until you're ready to shoot.
Anyone read other coverages on this? Based on the article I didn't see anything to counter indicate that he wasn't just shot by someone who left the murder weapon at the scene.
They recovered the gun. I'm sure the police verified it was his. He probably admitted it. He survived the shooting, at first.
Keep going, one qui at a time.
.... Plus the collateral damage
At first I read the headline, through dirty glasses, as "Man talking trash to dumpster..." which makes this story a bit less interesting than I was expecting.
That very scene played in my head when I read this headline, glad someone beat me to saying this!
you could almost smell that sweet sugarfoots bbq
If only there were a good guy with a gun, to prevent this bad guy with a gun from killing the innocent.
Too bad this guy was all 3.
The solution is to put more guns into circulation.
More guns equals more safety.
Somehow.
The only way to stop a dumb guy with a gun is a good dumpster with a gun
If he had two guns, they would have only gone off and shot the bullet of the other gun, cancelling them out. It's basic gunenomics.
Egunomics, surely?
That sounds like when you install a gun on your arm rest to keep good shooting posture
That's ergunomics!

What about this story suggests the man is "trash"?
That he was stupid enough to think he needed to carry a gun taking out the trash...
Some people don't live in great neighborhoods. ¯\(°_o)/¯ It could've been one of those things where he's taking out the trash and then hopping in the car going about his day.
That his gun fired after he slipped. It indicates that he didn't respect the firearm enough to holster it appropriately. If you're going to carry a gun, and not treat it with the respect it deserves, and to respect those around you by doing so -- you're trash.
