You can also flip the narrative with arts, if you ride the NYC Subway you can also come across someone playing their cello in the train car.
Unfortunately
In all seriousness though. I went to WrestleMania with my brother 22 years ago. We got really decent mid range seats facing the middle of the ring. We paid $80 a seat and got to see the Rock vs Hulk Hogan.
Out of nostalgia I wanted to look into tickets for a WWE event for my brother and I even though we haven't seen it in decades. The tickets were $400 each for the mid range. It's absolute insanity, but also insane that it's sold out at that price, so no wonder they charge that.
I love that the dick punch is the only difference between the actual fighting on display
He giving him the ol' dick twist.
TWIST HIS DICK!!
Free (unless you get something to eat):
Is this a reference to something specific or just made by someone who doesn't ride the subway? Feels vaguely "the cities are from infested hell holes!" conservative pearl clutch to me, but maybe I'm out of the loop.
It's a joke. Settle down
If they didn't want it to be a specific criticism, it wouldn't say "NYC".
I assume they choose NYC in particular because its a three letter acronym that could sound like it would fit in with other three letter fighting organizations.
Fair enough. "MTA" would have been funnier and more specific. Either way it still seems like a pointed dig.
I don't think the most basic analysis is getting worked up, but ok.
Or just a joke. I live in a city with a metro system, I use it, and as much as I've never personally seen a fight in the metro itself, they obviously happen. Some users are stabbed a few times a year. I've seen people jump over the tracks. I've felt a bit threaten by a beggar that I've once said I recognized.
Just a few examples from here:
https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/two-men-stabbed-during-brawl-at-cartier-metro-in-laval
https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/man-stabbed-outside-lionel-groulx-metro-1.6834765
And I'm not living in a very criminal city. I'm not saying the metro isn't safe, or that you'll see fights and brawls for the price of a ride, but it could happen. Like, take the metro when bars are closing and there's probably gonna be higher chances to see a brawl or a fight. I imagine it's similar in bigger cities with metro/subway systems as well.
And I want to stress that cities where this can happen are not inherently dangerous. There are much smaller cities that have a highest crime rate than the closest metropolis, but they don't have the density for a metro/subway system where you can thus see drunk people fight about something they already forgot.
So the metro is basically a loot box for fist fights, and 99% of the time you just get a quiet ride to work while you read?
Shitty deal.
Sure, fights happen. But "public transit and cities are dangerous" are kind of shitty right wing memes.
The ooooooool dick twist!
Twist his dick!
