In the Abacus poll, 46 per cent of respondents said they would support Canada becoming a member state of the EU, and 44 per cent said the Canadian government should definitely or probably look into joining it.

Aren't polls great? They never tell you who the fuck they called.
I mean, I've never been called for such a poll. Or maybe I blocked the number because it was unknown?
How about it should read, "48 percent of people who have no fucking idea how to block or avoid an unknown number (read: aged 70 plus) are what we'll use to describe and influence you on the projection for all voices in your populous."
If it was an internet poll...? Even worse.

Canadian here. It sounds like a nice idea, but honestly the vast majority of Canadians do not understand how the EU works at all, or what benefits/donwnsides there are to joining.

This also ignores whether the EU wants us to join at all. I also do not see our government doing this any time soon, maybe if things continue like this for another 10 years or if the US drops out of NATO.
