Trump has distanced himself from the project, calling it 'ridiculous' and not tied to him.

Just a reminder for folks:

No foreign policy points?

I guess trade and tariffs touches on this, but I'm interested in NATO and geopolitics

The little Trump says about it shows he wants to run external affairs and defense as the world's biggest protection racket.

Not to be a pedant but I would like it if more than 1/10 of Project 2025 got shut down

Hopefully she can centimate it….

I have a slight suspicion that you did intend to be a pedant.

I don't think that's pedantic whatsoever in this context. Words matter from politicians, especially when they have teams of speechwriters, and she's not exactly Ms. Progressive. She's promised to fight against 10% of it, and it's totally valid to want her to clarify her intent.

When you look at her voting record in the Senate, she's fairly progressive (as far as US politics goes). IIRC, she's a little to the right of Sanders, and a little to the left of Warren, but pretty close overall to both of them. That said, she's more of a pragmatist, and Sanders is an idealist.

Y’all know decimate was the headline and this was the actual statement, right?

I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party — and unite our nation— to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.

Regardless, the "pedantic" argument against the headline is only a thing if you're not allowing for the evolution of language, it's actually just being a snooty language snob given that language does evolve and the usage of the headline aligns with common standards these days:

Decimate strayed from its "tenth" meaning and nowadays refers to the act of destroying or hurting something in great numbers.

Well I do now thank you!

Business Insider's word choice, not VP Harris.

The two most important things that made me who I am today are libraries and public schools. She has my vote!

That's a pretty good opening.

Some of its most extreme priorities include: eliminating the Department of Education, prohibiting the FBI from fighting misinformation and disinformation and ending the "war on fossil fuels."

Some of the goals outlined in the project don't require a president's involvement at all, and can be carried out by local and state governments.

When asked for comment, Trump's spokesman Steven Cheung told BI: "Kamala is the one with the radical, out-of-touch agenda," adding that she is "soft on crime" and "hates American energy production and jobs."

Harris' statement comes shortly after President Biden quit the race, following weeks of calls from top Democrats telling him to step aside or risk losing the election.

"While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term," Biden wrote in a letter posted on social media.
