I wonder if it’s going to be a bad idea to drink a coffee right now.

That would be the logical thing to do.

Go to bed now and don't come out of your room.

a little rain here, not much just enough to wet the place

It’s bin night and there are only 2 other bins out on street. Normally 8pm would have you last bin out by a mile!

Anyone got tips for dealing with a dry, itchy, back-of-the-throat cough? Other than a salt gargle. Yesterday's headache and lethargy are mostly gone but replaced by this insidious annoyance. Feels like it's been years since I've had a throat problem

solvin lozenges

Can agree with the honey-lemon-ginger drink, but also liquorice can work, as can a tea made of dried thyme leaves. I think the ancient Romans used thyme for sore throats. Gargle or sip.

Second the honey advice. Honey + lemon + ginger in a bit of hot water is my go to.

I've got jars and jars of honey that I can't get through so this sounds like the perfect excuse. Will go shopping for lemons and ginger tomorrow!

Strepsils or other hard candy. I got a pack of Coles Butterscotch which have been great for the intubation throat.

Vitamin C for general immune system power.

I'll definitely look into this if the honey thing doesn't work. I remember strepsils from childhood...

You get honey and you put some on a teaspoon and flip it over onto your tongue (so it's trapped between your tongue and the spoon) and suck it like a lollipop.

Not gonna complain about this remedy. I've got some very thick honey that's hard to use as a spread so perfect for this very use.

The garden is loving this rain. I am not. Just saying.

Why didn't anyone tell me about the Madeira cake at Aldi?? It's so yum

Have you tried the potato gratin that Sir_ListerOfSmeg recommended?

I wonder how many babies will be born 9 months from now. ❄

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Haha not likely. Too cold to get it outta my pants.

But it's nice and warm in the lady cave.

Sure is, but he’s gonna claim hazardous work conditions and refuse to travel to the job site. I’m wearing three layers on my top half!
