Most adhd memes are completely normal things that occur to most people

Ye it's only when these things happen to the point of disrupting your life to a dysfunctional degree do they warrant a diagnosis.

Keep in mind that every person on this planet will experience every symptom of ADHD at some point. That's why it's so relatable.

It becomes a disorder when it significantly negatively impacts your life and ability to function as a human.

Like, the only reason I'm still employed is because my company is staffed by people who understand the limitations of adhd. If not for them I'd be homeless.

My house is still in a constant state of chaos, and that won't change until I can pay a normal person to help me.

Friendly way to remember if it's a disorder.

Does it.... Disrupt the order of your life? Or are you getting through it?

Like, oh you say you've got OCD, cause you have to wash your hands all the time? So... Has it made you late for work? Do you set your alarm early so you're not late for work?

Stuff like that raises a big red flag for a disorder.

This isn't diagnostic, but it's an easy way to break like 95% of inaccurate self diagnoses.

I'm sure it's disrupted the order of my life but I haven't the attention span to investigate.

I enjoy my ADHD in moderation.

I've never been one for moderation. I'm all ADHD all the time.
