I use FOSS browser and have antifingerprinting enabled. I get this constantly. I think it also might have something to do with blocking the tracking parts of the url directs.

Just got this today as well.
Did you find an update? BPC is still not working for me on The NY Times.
I use archive.is to read news articles. Just put the URL into it, it's usually already archived
For your web browser, Add this to your uBlock Origin block list:
lemmy.dbzer0.com##.title:has-text(/nytimes.com/)
You can add additional sites, separated by pipes like this::
lemmy.dbzer0.com##.title:has-text(/nytimes.com|theverge.com|404media.co/)
(Change the leading url to that of your own instance)
This will turn this:
into this:
So you don't accidentally get interested in a bullshit paywalled article.
I've been thinking about subscribing to a news site. Similar to email, I would rather pay than see the propaganda. 404 was one I was considering. I have several Ghost publications I'm watching to figure out which one I want.
The Ublock codes will be useful, though. Thanks for sharing!
It is not just paywall, New York Times is full of propaganda just like CNN.
Throw the URL into https://archive.ph/
Thanks for that.
I note that archive has a Firefox addon but I can't seem to see the icon in the toolbar anywhere after installing. It's only an issue because accessing the archive link direct makes me jump through security check hoops before being able to use it online.
I haven't used the addon. At this point, captchas are just kind of the cost of browsing with any fragment of privacy, unfortunately.
How so you bypass paywall?
archive.is then paste the url.
I wouldn't be willing to disable my vpn for the nyt so thanks for confirming that it wouldn't have made a difference. It appears that they now block everyone who doesn't let javascript freely do whatever it wants to fingerprint you or whatever. I'll not miss them too much.
Archive . Is then paste the article name.
I thought bypass paywall was dead?
