They don’t move like daphnia and I do hatch baby brine shrimp. Did I get some eggs in here somehow? This many?!

They look like scuds to me. Brine shrimp would not survive in fresh water very long. Personally, I think they are harmless fish food but some people may disagree.

You’re right they look a lot like scuds but red! Maybe they’re extra rich in beta carotene. Only thing is scuds usually swim smoothly and these tiny bois kind of jerk around like daphnia or copepods. Hmmm. In any case even the fry like eating them. Just wish they weren’t growing in my dirty lotus flower pot 😅
