i learned tgat weird al isn’t from winnipeg. I swear to god, I have no clue where I picked that up from, but it’s been stuck in my head for like years at this point, I’m pretty sure I’ve used that as like a piece of trivia 😭

Very sad day for me, I shall be in mourning

That’s Marcille Donato from Delicious in Dungeon.

(Watch it. It’s really good.)

Delicious in Dungeon (aka Dungeon Meshi), which is airing on Netflix right now. It’s an excellent show.

Tbf he seems a lot like he should be from Winnipeg, though I can't explain why

That's in the better timeline with Harambe and the Bearnstein Bears.

American can either be like : 9/11 is like the worst day in the entire universe lifespan . Don't ever disrespect it, ever!

Or

I ate Mexican tacos and a few hours later, it was like 9/11 all over again in the bathroom. It was so bad that I almost melted my toilet. The keyword is almost, cause we all know jet fuel can't melt steel beams.

There's a weirder type of people that are not even Americans and act like the first type.

They make this ointment called calmoseptine. It's like desitin but it has a soothing effect. Ring around that rosie and you'll feel better

It's okay, you can say 'Canadian' on this server.

I didn't expect to get this far - I've got nothing.

As a non american, all I know is that it was not that big of a fucking event, people died but with the gravity they talk about it compared to other actual big world events, you'd think that millions died.

Mind you, I'm not against them being like their stuff was serious, all I ask is about consistency. I've been called terrorist jokingly for being from the Basque country by the same people that got super offended by 911 jokes. How fucking dare them.

I ain't American either and I share the same feelings.

I think a big part of that divide is whether they were old enough to remember it. I was only a few months old on 9/11 and I've always been pretty irreverent about it.

I was in high school when it happened. I got to see the government overreach, the increased racism and jingoism masquerading as patriotism, the transition of airports, the start of a war we just finally ended, and eventually what Rudy Giuliani turned into.

But I also know a good/horrible knock knock joke about it.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

Knock nock

Edit: I just realised I'm dumb, you're the one who knocks so let's assume you did

Who's there ?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 5 months ago (1 children)

9/11

9/11 who?

You said you'd never forget!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 5 months ago

Nice thanks !

I remember watching it happen in school and even I know jet fuel can't melt steel beams, but a good hot sauce will make a good go of it.
