I hate how these articles always manage to blame workers, particularly millennials or gen z for being lazy. People remote in from vacation because they feel guilty from being away from work or are specifically pressured into not taking vacation. It's a toxic work culture.

This is what "PTO" and "unlimited vacation" policies were designed to accomplish

I really can't understand the American culture around time off. In the UK my manager will go on and on at me if I've not booked 75% of my allowance a month after it has renewed.

The great scam of American culture is worshipping capitalism.

Us poors have been convinced that, if we put in the "work" we can get the American dream of being rich and popular.

This is reinforced by every single rich person in this country, intentionally or not.

Ask any rich person how they got where they are? They'll tell you "hard work", "skill", "talent". I e. Lie straight to your face.

They won't tell you, I got it from my parents, I got it through nepotism, I got insanely lucky, I got by winning the genetic lottery and being extremely pretty.

Simple. You sent all of your Puritans with their "work until you die" ethic over here.
