Canada is not the US's hat. The US is Canada's pants.

Lovely. Canadians probably think they’ll get off easy with climate change because of where they’re located

constant forest fires seem to indicate otherwise

Their food supply chain is also going to get just as fucked as the US'.

Something tells me that Mr. Carney does not care.

How does the Canadian government justify military spending to the people? I can understand how EU uses the Russian boogeyman, but Canada is so far away from anyone who would seriously invade it. If they think its to defend against the US then lol where do they think the money is going?

They may seem far away but don't forget that the frozen tundra where almost no one lives is also technically Canada and closer to Ruzzia so we have to DEFEND CANADIAN SOVEREIGNTY IN THE ARCTIC so that we can open the mines and oil wells and MAKE CANADA AN ENERGY SUPERPOWER as soon as it's warm enough. If that doesn't convince you, doesn't matter, it's Ukrainophobic to not want war with Ruzzia

It's pure Rusophobia here, worth noting that Canada intentionally imported a bunch of literal nazis after WW2 with the intent of breaking up the nascent labour movement. The children of these fascists have become a big part of the political scene in Canada as seen with people like Freeland.

I still get a kick how the US got all the important Nazis through Operation Paperclip while Canada got the leftovers and cheap knockoffs like Banderites.

60 Minutes - Nazis in Canada (1997)

My grandfather fought in world war 2 just so the Canadian government could turn around and lay out the red carpet for Ukranian SS officers. Utterly despicable I hate this fucking country.

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

This will shock you but Canada also uses evil Putler and evil Chyna to justify it.

We have a shit load of Ukrainians here. In fact I remember seeing a Canadian flag in Kiev during the Maiden coup (In Oliver Stones documentary)

But yeah it’s the same NATO bullshit as everywhere else.

Yea my question was a rhetorical. From my conversations with Canadians I've heard the same things. I try to dispel those worries but its an uphill battle (for some reason!)

I also dont think the average Canadian understands how much their government capitulates to the US

how much their government capitulates to the US

As usual it's almost entirely leftists who seem capable of acknowledging that. And everybody else that can see it doesn't seem to think it's a problem.

That + the western/central part of Canada literally burning from wild fire being an annual thing, things are great in Canada this-is-fine

Really cool how our quality of life is going to shit because our “superiors” are all mentally 8 year old boys and want to use normal people as their personal action figures.

And this time this is damage that will compromise humanity's ability to exist severely like nothing we've seen since.... Shit the last population bottleneck we've experienced? It will be slow and painful

Reminds me of the 1910-1914 tbh

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, the anti-war left getting crushed by national chauvinism from the right and pseudo-left and stuff isn't boding well.

"Congratulations leftist! Academic sources, historical data, and more all point to your side being correct!"

:D

"Bad news, your side is too impotent to actually do anything, and the opposite side is a lot more popular!"

same as it ever was. Instead of rotting, removed aristocrats we have rotting, removed bourgeoisie.

also i didn't realize the word that got removed would be removed. Corrupt maybe? Idk whatever i'm just posting over here.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Oh, the bourgeoisie will be removed alright
