!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

To be able to see a person's perspective when they tell me a story. Kinda like The Echo from FFXIV, but without the headache.

Future vision. Hello stock market. They can kick me out of a casino for winning too much but they can’t really do anything if I’m making too much money in the stock market. Even if they tried to claim insider trading or market manipulation or whatever they still have to prove it in a courtroom. They fail because I’d have attorneys because even a halfway decent attorney would win that one. I wouldn’t even have to claim my future vision I could just claim i’m just picking the stocks. They’d have to prove that I’m doing something else.

Who says they have to act by legal measures?

Probably toggleable statistics. So I could choose to see information about people above their heads. Mood, age, name, net worth, and stuff like that. It'd be something I could turn on/off and choose what's stats I want to see at any given time

Some sort of HUD. Would really help navigation and other useful things.

The availability to see if people are open to interact with me. Im so afraid of imposing on anyone it makes it a challenge to make friends.

The ability to see where the thing in the fridge I'm looking for is immediately

See backwards in time from the exact location I'm standing.
How did the Egyptians build the pyramids?
I'll just visit Egypt and take a look back in time and see.

Location is problematic. The Earth rotates, moves through space and the continents move. Even if you manage to compensate for the first two, where you'd need to be in the present to see what you want to see in the past is almost certainly not going to be where you think it is.

I love that the series Seven Days took this into consideration in its device.

The series is flawed in other ways, but that was neat.

Good point.
Let's tie it to the object itself then rather than a physical location. Look at any object and see it's past as far back as you want.
Pick a brick somewhere in the middle and keep going back until the bricks past shows it getting stacked.
Would be pretty cool for things found in antique stores.

Change how I appear to others

Some sort of decision vision where I can see the outcome of anything I do before I do it

Oh my gosh, cloudless, you can't just answer every super power question with "Death Note"!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 14 hours ago

That vision ability to see people's names from Death Note would be helpful for avoiding those awkward social interactions where someone is talking to me but I've completely forgotten who they are.

~~Z-ray~~ F-ray vision from Futurama

Edit: damn, time to rewatch

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Bah. Give me the F-ray from Futurama.

remote sensing/viewing(capable of seeing places not within your line or sight and not because of x-ray vision to see past sold objects) with limitations, i assume vision as in the mind like non-linear ability to 'see' timelines(alternate ones)(also past timelines)
