Can someone cobble together a list of video clips of PP just being an asshole? My family thinks he's this great, clever "everyman", and I think we could do a lot of damage to bike by supercutting all the times he's demonstrated what a slime ball he is.

Of course, if the Liberals and NDP insist on running with their current leadership, they might as well just hand him the keys now.

Nothing will convince your family if they think PP is great. Similar to Trumpers, they'll never admit their guy has any issues. There's a YT video where they talk to Trumpers and they quote Trump but attribute the quote to Joe Biden. Once they give their opinion, which is of course crazy, the interviewer reveals it's actually a quote from Trump and they do a 180 so fast your head spins. They don't even see anything wrong with what's said as long as Trump is saying it. PP fans are the same.

Just skipping the conversation whether he's better than the current Prime Minister I think everyone should be able to agree the Pierre is a idiot.

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/pierre-poilievre-weighs-in-on-bc-ndp-plan-to-recriminalize-public-drug-use-1.6866945

“Even nurses are having to give up on breastfeeding because they’re worried their kids will be contaminated with drugs they breathe in. What the hell they thinking over there?” said Poilievre.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Poilievre refused, saying only that he agreed to replace "wacko" with "extremist" or "radical." Poilievre's refusal prompted Fergus to remove him.

Because describing the fairly elected leader of Canada as "Extremist" is such a reasonable thing to do.

It will be if Poilievre wins the next election

It’s a craven, hollow, classless stunt on the part of Pierre. I just saw on CBC that he’s fundraising off of it already? I don’t understand how people watch this guy and want to vote for him. He seems like such a scam artist.

[–] [email protected] 39 points 6 months ago

Because people don't hate getting scammed by their scam artist.

Conservatives also tend to make politics a core part of their identity, which allows conservative governments to get away with doing everything they accuse Liberals of doing mostly without consequences.

Canada has some of the most apathetic voters in the world, so I don't expect anything in this country to improve anytime soon.

People will simply trade getting screwed by the letters L/C and be certain they are one election away from all of their problems going away.

and of course.. Pierre tries to spin this as saying he was kicked out as a result of calling the policy whacko, when he damn well knows that's not why he was kicked out.

“Today the Liberal speaker censored me for describing Trudeau’s hard drug policy as wacko,” Poilievre wrote in a post on X.

Of course he posted on X.

I'm surprised it wasn't on Truth Social, TBH.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 months ago

He wants to reach more then a dozen people.

[–] [email protected] 34 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Our next prime minister, everyone.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I hate his arrogance, it seems like they are so certain of the next election outcome (or that the electorate will eat this shit up) that he isn't even trying to hide that he is an asshole.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Well, he hasn't hid it for the last 2 decades in politics, so why bother now when he's leader of the party and (sadly) likely the country in a year.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Yes, he has always been the insufferable yappy dog of the Conservative party, and we know where he stands with the idiotic drivel that comes out of his mouth and the bad company he keeps. When he ditched the glasses and tried out his new "friendlier" image he toned it down a bit, but the crazy has come back out in the past couple months.

Fucking juveniles.
