/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

I can see her playing Lwaxana's mother. Or sister. Or a dual role as both.

Soon AI will create that movie for us, with Khan being played by Sigourney Weaver, enabling a crossover to the Alien universe. I can't wait.

Everything in this post is now accepted as canon.

For anyone else not in the know.

Madeline Gail Kahn (née Wolfson; September 29, 1942 – December 3, 1999) was an American actress, comedian, and singer. She is known for comedic roles in films directed by Peter Bogdanovich and Mel Brooks, including What's Up, Doc? (1972), Blazing Saddles (1974), Young Frankenstein (1974), High Anxiety (1977), History of the World, Part I (1981), and her Academy Award–nominated role in Paper Moon (1973).

Thanks for this ... always great to learn new info on these great actors.

Don't forget Clue

And if you don't recognize her go watch some of those movies. She's one of the comedy greats.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

She was great in Paper Moon, which I need to watch again sometime. I’ve only seen part of Blazing Saddles because the DVD I got at the library was scratched all to hell and quit working.

Kahn was known for making her co-stars funnier.

I'm bad with names, and her face didn't hit right away, so I added the above to help others with the same issue.

I've personally seen ~~all~~ most of her movies, although it's been years for some of them.

All of them? An impressive feat. I tried to watch them all one time, having seen most of the good ones. Gave up after Yellowbeard. I don't think there exists a worse movie with as many great people in it.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

Yellowbeard is one of those movies with a lot of potential and two or three funny jokes.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

You know what, you got me. I can't say i've seen Yellowbeard.

There was no editing or photoshop required for that original cleavage .... it was just a matter of swapping in a new head and face.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 7 months ago

She's tired, oh so tired...

OMG can you imagine if Khan's "he tasks me" monologue were done in the style of Mrs. White's from Clue?!?!?!? Holy shit that would be awesome.

(spoilers for both movies obviously, though only "sort of" for Clue)

Edit: @[email protected] beat me to it

[–] [email protected] 20 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I would watch the absolute shit out of that. She was amazing. Gone too early.

(Not gonna lie, I read it as Neelix at first, but the 'strong' part didn't match up)
