Neat....I guess. 🤷‍♂️

I value this guy's statement that Across the Spider-Verse was the best movie, more than I value the selection of Oscar Best Picture

Why wouldn't they choose to watch a good movie over 30 times instead?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Probably they had kids

They that Mario movie was pretty alright.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 5 months ago

Maybe the good movies out at the time were too long. Mario was only 90 minutes.

Thor was 2 hours though so I’d have thought that you’d be able to find a better movie with a runtime of 2 hours.

That's nothing to be proud of

[–] [email protected] 28 points 5 months ago

That seems...excessive.

More than two movies a day for a whole year, it's way too much time

[–] [email protected] 28 points 5 months ago (2 children)

And in a theater, so quite a lot of money spent too.

Perhaps he used something like the program at Regal Cinemas. For around $20 a month, you can view unlimited movies.

Maybe he was like me as a teen, buy 1 ticket but go into another theater after the movie ended. Never thought to do it 700 more times though

Without receipts, I doubt he could claim a record.

It's Guiness. The bar for evidence is 10,000 dollars.

Never really knew that until Hbomberguy highlighted it within ROBLOX_OOF.mp3

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

Yeah that's a good segment about it. Recently Pinely released one with some fun tidbits of Guiness shenanigans: How Guiness RUINED World Records

[–] [email protected] 23 points 5 months ago (3 children)

As per Guinness World Records, Swope saw an eye-watering 777 movies between July 2022 and July 2023, eclipsing the previous record of 715 movies held by France's Vincent Krohn.

Swope, who was raising awareness about autism, even caught multiple movies several times – including The Super Mario Bros. Movie 35 times and Thor: Love and Thunder 33 times.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 5 months ago

Knew he was autistic just by the fact he watched the same movie 35 times.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 5 months ago

Seeing that Thor movie once was 1 time too many. I can't imagine seeing it 33 times.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I feel for the guy's mental health having sat through that Thor movie so many times—easily one of the worst movies I've seen in years

[–] [email protected] 10 points 5 months ago

I couldn't even finish it, I wonder how many times he just sat in the back with earplugs, an eyemask, and a blanket for a nap.
