SCPD (Long Island, NY) literally did this to me once. They pulled me over and "interrogated" me for 20-30m on the side of the road. I say "interrogated" because they were putting words in my mouth and making up a narrative, even implying that my sleeping dog was dangerous. Eventually they gave up and let me go without charge.

Another time the fuckers gave me 5 tickets for driving without insurance, while holding my valid insurance in their hand. That was a fun one to fight in court. Spoiler: I won.

Ok that sounds fucked up. As does the article. But...

How do the cops recognize you as queer? I bet if 100 cars drove by me I couldn't recognize a single one confidently as gay/lesbian/queer/a sexual/whatever label you want.

Hell I drove home today, can't tell you if the car behind me was a male or female, how do cops spot this?

Latina maybe... Purposed eye looking for a face style.... Lesbian... I can't think of a look that says "that female car driver loves eating pussy".

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I can't think of something you can do and make me think you're a Lesbian vs straight while driving

it's often just that they pull you over and make a judgement in the moment whether you're worth their respect or not.

Like the other person said, bumper stickers are likely to give it away. I used to have a policy that any time one got vandalized I would replace it with two, so I had 5-6 by the time that happened. I was also driving a beater car which I'm certain is the original reason they pulled me over

This is the same police force

see, that's your problem right there. have you maybe thought of not being born as who you are? that's on you imo for not thinking of that when you decided to not be born a straight white male.

(obv /s but that's probably what's going on in the cops head, if anything at all)
