It's miserable weather, but at least I can now be confident my heater is up to the task.

I've now done the setup for the outdoor security cameras, I just need the weather to improve enough for me to go outside and mount them. It's just a couple of screws to clamp on to the gutter so it shouldn't take too long - the hardest bit will be deciding the best postion for the one in the back yard.

Unfortunately my leave is over and I have to go to work tomorrow. My first night shift in ages, hopefully the novelty of meeting a bunch of new people and learning how to do my job in a different place will stop me falling asleep.

It’s a pivotal character Expedition 33.

It’s my fault since I hooked a few people on it by posting up videos.

Gosh I feel like I've been a total shut in this week with what happened to me, catching up on work and the cold weather. Winter hibernation mode is activating big time. I've got a birthday dinner tomorrow night and actually looking forward to some social time with friends, I really need it.

Have a great time. You deserve it.

A while ago I confiscated a couple of vapes. Tonight we tried them out. Fuck. No wonder the kids are addicted to this shit.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What happened when you tried them?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Nothing happened. They taste fruity.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Oh ok, I’ve never tried them out either.

Wevver is about to fall in a heap. Stay warm, everyone!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

Feels like it already has. Water bottle and blanket just made me fall asleep.

Now I’m debating if I should make bolognaise tonight or tomorrow.

I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't have one before. Just one of those things I never really learned or thought about.

Time for a test nap lol

Edit: wow. I've been missing out lol

I got a foam squidgey one because my hips were still sore side-lying, it seems to be doing the trick.

Let’s say you’re at the supermarket; Is it against social norms to open a few punnets of strawberries and gather only the ripe ones to put in the punnet you eventually purchase?

Edit: also no, I have not done this personally

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

I do it grapes but I guess that's different because they're open bags. Not sure I would pick and mix strawberries, but ya know what, if I saw someone do it I wouldn't pay them any attention.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Only if you also leave a bonus needle in once in a while, anything else is simply un-Australian.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

Oh no ! I forgot about that 😭

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

They're in a punnet for a reason. It's not a pick n mix. WASH YOUR FRUIT & VEG PEOPLE.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I think it's fine if you sort the non-ripe ones into their own punnets of similar ripeness at the same time, and arrange those punnets in order of ripeness such that is clear to other shoppers that what they are seeing is indeed punnets of strawberries arranged in ascending (or descending, I guess) order of ripeness.
Edit: you would also need to be leaving at least five punnets as described above

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

Given they are sold as a pre-packaged item I think it would not just be against social norms, but could also be illegal. Especially if you have to break a seal to do it. It's like openeing a few bags of jelly snakes to consolidate the red ones because you don't like the mix.

It's not the same as the bag of grapes which are still weighed at checkout and just divided into bags for convenience.

In today's edition of flat-pack assembly:

One laundry stand

Very basic, but functional and very cheap.

One bathroom cabinet.

Lots of little pieces involved in this one.
