Blue Sky has always been stupid.

  1. Hate X because of Elon + lack of censorship
  2. Go to protocol where censorship is more difficult?
  3. Attempt to re-centralize and engineer a way to enable censorship again?
  4. Be liberal Zionists???

Enjoy the empty platform.

This article is relying on anecdotal evidence citing only a few random Reddit and Bluesky posts and some of the claims in the article are not backed by any evidence. Also note that the Reddit links I clicked on are all heavily downvoted.

Denise is a person that's been long involved in trust and safety analyzed a lot of the Gaza accounts and found that https://bsky.app/profile/rahaeli.bsky.social/post/3lpxyoe4efk26 only 18% of Gazans were actually posting in Gaza time. Of course she didn't publish hard data so this claim isn't 100% scientific either but the poster is pretty reputable I feel.

Also if you've ever used Bluesky before it used to be that you'd get random replies and mentions asking for money, recently they've gotten this much better under control.

So I think what is really happening is people post unsolicited requests for money on posts that are unrelated and they get correctly marked as spam.

Tbf there are laws, especially in europe that could fuck them for hosting this stuff. But then again they also were fine with a CP enjoyer promoting porn to kids.. and more of that kinds of stuff.

Doesn’t Bluesky also love a bit of Transphobia?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'd like it if you would provide proof instead of spouting baseless conjecture for internet points 🙂

When I was on there there was quite a bit of transphobia and a very vocal anti trans journalist was allowed to remain. Seems quite transphobic to me. Are you saying things have changed?

The fact it took time to change isn’t a good look cause it means the owners were ok with it.

There are people on Lemmy who call for the destruction of the entire West. Do I call the entirety of Lemmy terrorists? Of course not. Just because something isn't immediately removed doesn't mean the owners agree with it.

I'm sure what you say is "transphobic" or "anti-trans" is probably just content you personally find objectable so you think that it should be removed and that not doing so infringes on your existence. This type of thinking is extremely dangerous and gives rise to algorithms that control what people think with lies.

I can appreciate it’s not going to come down or stop over night, but a vocal statement that transphobia is not going to tolerated is a start.

I hate this framing, that you have to be a "Gaza Account" or "Pro-palestinian" to say anything in support of Palestinians.

I'm not a rabid nutty "Genocide Joe" type, but any human being can acknowledge that what is going on is unacceptable.

I will say though, I suspect that a completely impartial LLM (although I understand that's not possible) moderating comments would tend to censor comments in support of palestine because... these comments tend to be more "robustly phrased" because the authors are getting frustrated at being ignored. Literally calling out war crimes and governments just label them anti-semites.

Genocide Joe

There's nothing rabid or nutty about the nickname that Joe Biden did everything he possibly could to earn.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sure ok, my point is that I'm not obsessed or fixated with it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Thank you for clarifying.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

I always used agressive replies to people justifying the genocide. I never has any consorship issue.

Bluesky is censoring anti genocide content ? Color me surprised
