I created an account that was immediately shadowbanned. Before I posted or commented anything. I used a temporary mail address and I guess that was it. I used to create a new account every couple of months and that was fine for a long time, I think I still remember around 30 of them. But at some point it became a hassle.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.
No reason at all during the great purge following Trump's inauguration
I was told that I had harassed a mod, but I hadn't interacted with anyone
Seems to me that they just purged large numbers of users with anti-Trump content on their account
I was on reddit for nearly 10 years without issue, suddenly I was sitewide banned and every attempt at an appeal went completely unanswered
Not permabanned but subbanned for promoting violence in the conspiracy sub about human trafficking (Couple of years ago when abduction footages went viral, crypto black market trades etc) the more I read about how it operates the more anger I got.. also for critisizing cosplay sexualization in videogame subs.. it's just so tiresome to be policed around.
So basically I used reddit for fun like most of us. I very rarely engage in stuff that I don't want to know about, especially if I know I have absolutely no control over it. So I'm sure I'll regret asking but what are you talking about or explain how whatever it is operates.
As far as cosplay sexualization I'm confused as to what you mean. Like incels trash talking women who dress up? The entire far right gaming community I'm so confused by. Gamers of the 80s - 2010 would have never tolerated what the right is taking over in gaming communities.
Like this game is woke because of female lead. Etc be like that
I got banned for the telling a teenage OP in /r/sex that her yeast infection was probably caused by her boyfriend's dirty fingers. I told her to emphasize cleanliness and hygiene ahead of future encounters. She said she couldn't ask her parents for sexual advice and also couldn't consult a doctor, so I tried to give her immediately useful advice
I was banned for "encouraging sex acts with a minor" but not before a bunch of people called me rude names for "imagining her sexual encounter with her boyfriend"
I said "bad bot" to a nazi apologist
Apparently that was "violent speech"
I'm amazed reddit even has users left. Wtf is going on over there? 10 years ago that would have been one of most upvotes coments
It had a lot of up votes
The reality is that unless Digg really succeeds, there's just no competition
Ya I was a long time digg user, even after the changes and everyone left for reddit I still hung around for a year or two. I'm excited to see what digg becomes and hopefully keep it far right free.
I never used any social until a few years ago
I watched reddit slip from right-wing to "genuinely quite concerning"
From outside the US, it was always right-wing, despite the cries of the bots, incels and trolls, but it deteriorated really quickly
There's already a few obvious agitators on the new Digg platform, so hopefully when it goes live for real they don't get a foothold
I have low expectations though...
