Reddit has a dedicated Tor site
Showerthoughts
A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.
Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:
- Both “200” and “160” are 2 minutes in microwave math
- When you’re a kid, you don’t realize you’re also watching your mom and dad grow up.
- More dreams have been destroyed by alarm clocks than anything else
Rules
- All posts must be showerthoughts
- The entire showerthought must be in the title
- No politics
- If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
- A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
- Posts must be original/unique
- Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS
If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.
Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
Update: Reddit is ass
Fuck corporate.
GO FEDIVERSE FOREVER 🏆
Holy shit, I actually managed to make an anonymous account over Tor. Now lets see how long before I get banned/shadowbanned. Didn't even think this was possible.
I just wish the people in the subs I mod and post in would post some too. I feel like I am just posting for myself in those subs. Hell I am not a mod in c/trailrunning and it has like 170 members and no one post. I was the last person that posted. I know people are looking because someone is upvoting the things I post but no replies, no conversation. I don't know what to do to drive engagement.
I didn't know that community existed! Not sure what to post there yet but I'll join
Wait, reddit doesn't allow tor anymore? I remember posting a drug-related TIFU using tor and a throwaway acc, but that was years ago
At least we can all say that we are famous on the internet.
Even on big websites like Wikipedia there are only a few hundred major editors that write most of the content and they all know each other. On Youtube you tend to get to know everyone in your filter bubble as well.
I get around that problem by simply never looking at your usernames
I just suck at remembering names. I've started remembering people by their Profile picture more than their username
Me too, Steve, me too.
Stop freakin him out
Your username would make a good meme.
"Were cat
Now am what?"
same and i block the ml and the holier than thou accounts.
I honestly have no clue why are some instances so hated here, but I'm going to assume it's politics.
You are on an instance that has defederated lemmy.ml, which is why you never see their toxicity. You can type the url and visit the instance yourself, its toxic. Its the reason why your instance admin blocked them.
Meh, wake me when it has an i2p presence
As for posting stuff on the internet, I don't care anymore. I just try to not post stupid shit, and be decent to other people.
I’ve had the misfortune of posting on Craigslist Forums and then having at least 1-2 people shit on me or call me a moron
I love being able to have the small-forum feeling of my home instance but also feeling connected to communities elsewhere.
I mean, sure, if we're pretending you can't abandon accounts at will and make new ones elsewhere in the lemmy...verse.
The whole idea of "who" is kinda pointless.
Maybe I am the real Vanilla Puddinfudge. Maybe I'm not. What would it mean either way?
I'm a polish girl who tried to make friends on lemmy but that didn't work out too well
