microfuckers and its not even because hes a sexoffender, otherwise it would have happened sooner (afaik he was criminal early) but its purely political.

Didn't they do it because he lost access to that email?

So, are our governments finally going to see US software as a risk? Because this can shut down entire governments

Netanyahu has dismissed the ICCโ€™s allegations as โ€œabsurd,โ€ and Israelโ€™s Knesset is considering legislation that would make providing evidence to the court a crime.

Right, allegations are absurd, so it makes perfect sense to criminalize providing evidence.

[โ€“] [email protected] 16 points 6 days ago

Can we make it a crime to make that a crime?

Why the fuck is he using Microsoft to begin with!? I would imagine Microsoft's TOS is incompatible with any organization that handles sensitive information. I wouldn't trust them with my grocery list, much less international human rights data.

Yes, but the alternatives are Google and Amazon. The bigger the organizations the smaller the amount of options, since the back-end becomes increasingly difficult to manage.

How come his bank accounts in the UK was frozen? In what way can the US have influence on that?

Because we're all living in corporate dictatorships masquerading as "democracy".

The oligarchy everywhere are authoritarian fascists, no different to the kings and queens of history, and they own every major corporation and government.

The US will fine and sanction banks that do not comply with its sanctions. So any bank that lets Khan have an account will get slapped basically.

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Surprised HSBC bank didn't jump at the chance to provide their services. They have a long history of getting fined for breaking sanctions.

Oh that's right, Khan doesn't have enough money to make it worth their while.

Damn thatโ€™s fucked

Microsoft, for example, cancelled Khanโ€™s email address, forcing the prosecutor to move to Proton Mail, a Swiss email provider, ICC staffers said. His bank accounts in his home countryโ€ฏof the U.K. have been blocked.ย

Microsoft did not respond to a request for comment.

The UK is the US's little bitch.

Welcome to ProtonMail, a Trump supporting service. He can't catch a break, can he?

[โ€“] [email protected] 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I think thatโ€™s a stretch. If we wanna criticise Proton, itโ€™s their lack of proper Linux support.

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They gave trump money, so it's literally the case. Not a stretch.

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago (2 children)

where did protonmail give trump money?

[โ€“] [email protected] 15 points 6 days ago

I think the other user may be mixing up events in their head. I havenโ€™t seen anything about Protonโ€™s donations but the Proton CEO has publicly made statements that suggested he might be pro-Trump.

Here is a really in depth analysis of his comments that concludes he may not actually be pro-MAGA.
