Claymore? The big women with big swords fighting monsters and getting grievously injured anime?
Yep that's the one: I don't know what they're thinking, the art design is too visually dynamic and surrealist for live action cgi, this sounds like its gonna be a mess
It's very very difficult to make any anime to live action adaptation not shit, and Claymore doesn't seem like it'd be a good candidate, from what I remember of it when it was airing in the first place.

I don't know why they go with sci-fi/fantasy shit when deciding to make live action adaptations. Black Lagoon, Monster, Another, When They Cry, Steins;Gate, Erased, or shit, even Girls und Panzer would all make great live action series/films.
Some of them would benefit from a larger budget that was why they were animated in the first place. Some could deal with the more problematic elements and update them for modern audiences. You could make a sequel to a series that was never finished. Others would be straight-up better as live action. Imagine Monster with historically accurate sets and costumes along with using German actors and a Japanese actor as Dr. Tenma to provide accurate dialects/accents.
Since you brought up Monster, a different work by Urasawa, Pluto was adapted to theatre once.
Azumanga Daioh live action
