if you have a shotgun and luck with your dynamite the cazadors are pretty managable, you only have to kill like 4 you can sneak by the rest.

One critique of New Vegas I have is that the difficulty paths should've been more clearly laid out

I spent damn near a whole day getting my ass kicked just trying to walk a little bit away from Goodsprings, going south was not intuitive at all

You ignored all the literal signs that say don't go that way, and the people that say the same... But it's the game's fault?

It was the distance when you head south, I thought "No I'm going too far too early, I must be missing something near Goodsprings" in my defense only New Vegas does this thing with difficulty paths

That recommended path looks kinda like a butt

I wrote a previous comment on this, but pretty much this exact same thing happened, and it caused the Donner Party. The real life guy was somehow even dumber than Zapp Branigan, and later helped establish the famous colony of ex-confederates in Brazil.

"Pffft, what the fuck would all of the people who have lived here for generations as well as several peiple who have made this exact journey numerous times know about the best way through here."

I actually used to go to a path similar to this. Reach sloan, stick to the side of black mountain (i think that's what it's called? can't remember?) but not close enough to get attacked by mutants. Go in between there, and there are deathclaws that try to attack you but they can't reach you, since you have the high ground. Just fall down that hill later, Then run as fast as you can to REPCONN headquarters, and congrats; you're in Vegas.

I do this strat always, and also incredibly easy to pull off (did it with a lvl1, unarmed character lmao)

And now i realize i'm probably explaining the obvious :p i learned this strat myself and have no idea if there's some other one that people do that's similar to this

Yeah, it's a path common in challenge videos etc.

Sneak past the super mutants until the first curve on the road up Black Mountain, then head up the slope where the boulder falls down, jump down at the end of it and you're basically at REPCONN HQ already.

Neat, never knew that. Thanks

Nah this is the strat for sure. Combine with high luck and you're in New Vegas in under an hour after cleaning out the Freeside casino. Then I'm robbing the vangraffs energy weapons in the bathroom and I get bored and stop playing because I'm too prepared.

cazadores go bzzzzzzzzzzz

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 weeks ago

Stealthboys are your friend, although last time I did it I somehow managed to get the deathclaw to aggro on the npcs around there catgirl-huh whoops

[–] [email protected] 34 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

nerd If you can't kill Deathclaws at lvl 3 then your playing the game wrong

[–] [email protected] 23 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It's not the deathclaws that get you, it's the cazadors (when you try to detour into the hills to avoid the deathclaws).

My most fun New Vegas playthrough was my explosives only run. Even at low levels, Cazadores lose what makes them so scary - their speed. The joys of crippling their wings.
