Are there any self-hosted AI programs that are available in the form of .exe files for individuals who may not have experience with coding or navigating platforms like GitHub? It would be helpful to find user-friendly options that allow people without technical backgrounds to easily set up and utilize AI tools on their own systems.

You may not want to hear this, but if you were really concerned about privacy, you would switch to Linux.

You still need to do some GitHub navigating, but you should be able to pull this off by using a Mozilla Corp project.

  1. Download the latest giant file on the release page:
    https://github.com/Mozilla-Ocho/llamafile/releases/latest
  2. As recommended, rename the file extension to ".exe"
  3. Just double click and the instructions say if it works, it'll open a browser.

Your link didn't work for me (404).

Here's a link to the main releases page, OP. The latest will be the top release and will have a green latest tag at the top. https://github.com/Mozilla-Ocho/llamafile/releases/
