My take is that they have not gone far enough until they depict the Rebels performing acts that everyone would criticise the soviets for carrying out but would wholeheartedly support the Rebels doing the very same thing against the empire.

Have the Rebels capture an Empire allied Royal Family and then tell them they're gonna do a hologram capture of them...
