Ban PitBulls

Dog bite severity varies by the breed of dog, and studies have found that pit bull–type dogs have both a high rate of reported bites and a high rate of severe injuries, compared to other non–pit bull–type dogs.

Pit bull–type dogs are extensively used in the United States for dogfighting, a practice that has continued despite being outlawed. Several nations and jurisdictions restrict the ownership of pit bull–type dogs through breed-specific legislation.

Dogs have been bred for specific reasons for thousands of years. Bloodhounds were bred for tracking scents. Dachshunds were bred to hunt burrowing animals. Siberian Huskies were bred to pull sleds across long distances in freezing conditions. Jack Russell Terriers were bred to hunt foxes….. Pit Bulls were originally bred in the 19th century for blood sports like bull-baiting, and later, dog fighting. It is not their fault, but they are genetically bred to attack and maim, and/or kill. Sometimes for no reason. I don’t care how loving and calm their owners are—they are genetically bred to carry out a specific job.

Thank you! People want to completely absolve pitbulls of the traits that were forced upon them over the generations.

Pitbulls are responsible for 66.9% of deaths.

It’s unbelievable how it’s still controversial to ban the breed.
