16384 samples on this render eight flat triangles with a copy rotation constraint pointed at the circle for the aperture orthographic side view of the camera lens in wireframe mode normal render of what the camera is pointed at

the luxcore render plugin has much faster converging caustics (does some photon mapping/bidirectional stuff iirc)

It's also open source!

i try it and its very very slow on my machine

been tweaking it and i have a much improved render with the same sample count
