I think it’s intentional, and I like it. Shows the family similarity, and gene/features do tend to express themselves more strongly in the generation after. Or at least in my family experience, my parents are both brown hair and eyed but many of my siblings have the blonde hair and blue/grey eyes of my grandparents.
It's definitely intentional!
And I think the added benefit is that it subconsciously reminds the viewers of the original series, evoking positive feelings :P

Would not recommend to use Sync for your daily browse due to limitations like this
Sync also doesn't seem to hide spoilers in the main feed. It only hides spoilers once you're in the post.
