Dunking on Liberals from a leftist, anti-capitalist perspective.

Dems keep working with trump to approve his picks, but what they won't accept is that if you sit down at a table with nazis, the only thing that's changed is the number of nazis at the table. @[email protected]

Mamdani signifies a generational change and rebuke to a party establishment grown complacent and hypocritical

The party was on its knees. It failed to beat Donald Trump, a twice impeached convicted felon, and lost both chambers of Congress. Since November, Democrats have been searching for a path out of the wilderness. On Tuesday, they found one.

But instead of celebrating Zohran Mamdani’s apparent victory in the New York mayoral primary election, the first major Democratic contest since Trump’s win, many in the party establishment went into panic mode.

Mamdani, 33, a self-described democratic socialist who would be the first Muslim mayor of America’s biggest city, represents a unique threat to the entitled elites, gerontocrats and consultants who have helped take Democrats’ approval rating to a record low of 29%.

His defeat of Andrew Cuomo, a 67-year-old from a political dynasty vying to come back from a sexual harassment scandal, could hardly have been better scripted as a pivot point for Democrats who ruined their brand by closing ranks to cover up concerns over former president Joe Biden’s decline.

"Mamdani's defeat of.." not "Mamdani's victory over.." - they really are reaching, aren't they?

A "Sexual harassment scandal" ? Not falsifying records and deliberately killing a whole bunch of old people? Not shutting down 1/3 of NYC's power input at the Indian Point NPP by caving to Secretary Brain Worms? Not generally being a corrupt quid-pro-quo creep?

The fact anyone voted for that mobbed up trash at all is concerning, especially given in private conversations all it's boiled down to is pure and simple racism. It's been made clear that there is now a critical and growing mass of people who are genuinely committed to working towards multiculturalism, who can respect their fellow human beings, and that there is a dwindling number of those who can't get over themselves enough to do better. These people are going to get increasingly vicious as their grip on power loosens. It's going to be difficult for those of us committed to doing better to keep ourselves clean, whilst we deal with mounting attacks from those who are of the mud, and will become more and more desperate in slinging it.

It's now up to everyone who supported Mamdani in the primaries to sustain their exceptional efforts, and carry this through the general election. The DNC will now do everything in their power to throw the general election, because they don't work for you, and they are cartoonishly petulant in the face of this perceived loss.

It's become impossible to ignore over the past week that a large number of them work for foreign interests instead, and that intersection between the specters of the 20th century geopolitics and local politics is the unfortunate political singularity point we're living through right now. The previous order is over - clintons, biden, cuomo and schumer got it badly wrong, resisted positive change, acted as despotic and irresponsible custodians of their duties to their constituents and are now paying the political price.

Expect to see similar themes playing out as democratic genocide apologists more focused on propping up a depraved, genocidal tottering international order vs. looking after their own taxpayers face deep public displeasure at their many and cavernous failures.

We need to get it right, and nobody is coming to help us - but for the first time in a while I feel like I got a breath of fresh air.

say it with me, we do NOT form a new party and divide votes. we WILL pester and primary corporate lobbyists until they feel fully unwelcome in the party

As someone from a more diverse democracy, every time I read something like this, it hurts.

Don't get me wrong, you are absolutely right. In your broken "the winner takes it all" system this is the only option.

But, if the world survives Trump, the next generation of democrats has to fix this. A two party democracy is bad. Really really bad.

I also know how hard it is to change your voting system. But as the US relearns how civil movements work (go on 50501! You are doing great!), I have hopes you can do it.

Greetings from Germany

The problem is not that they're complacent, hypocritical or whatever. The problem is that they represent the interests of the oligarchs and not those of the common people.

lol, chuck schumer's imaginary voter friends would never vote for this man, so the DNC would be foolish to follow mamdani's lead

Chuck Schumer awakening from his multi-decade stupor like fucking Godzilla to fusion-ha with Trump and deploy the national guard to NYC

That guy has consistently been on the wrong side of nearly every issue for decades, and so thoroughly ineffective in his broken clock moments to warrant a round walloping in a primary.

As a Democrat Strategist I UNDERSTAND what they're saying here! What they're saying is if we Want to Win we need MORE Billionaires like Elon Musk behind us and LESS Policies that help the Working Class! UNDERSTOOD!

Republicans winning elections makes the Democrats more money than winning elections by adopting popular legislative positions.

Fuck me that comment hit too hard to read twice. How fucking depressing. And here we are with any voting method that's not FPTP literally getting banned in our states.

I'm originally from Oklahoma. Wanna hear their excuse? "Too confusing for voters."

Have a look at this filth. Take a minute and read it:

https://ocpathink.org/post/analysis/no-need-to-fix-oklahoma-elections-with-ranked-choice-voting

Jesus fucking CHRIST. I had no idea how far the poison has spread:

https://ocpathink.org/post/analysis/oklahoma-should-ban-ranked-choice-voting

And now the Democrats and GOP are going to fight like rabid raccoons to make goddamned sure we don't get ranked choice.

Its used in Ireland and the country hasn't devolved into chaos yet.

The same was true when Bernie managed to out-raise everyone else in the 2020 Democratic primary, with nothing but small dollar donations made by individual supporters.

He completely smashed the illusion that you had to rely on big-money donations in order to compete in Presidential races. If your policies appeal to the majority of voters...the majority will support you. It's not fucking rocket science.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It’s not fucking rocket science.

You mean it is a ballistic missile program by communist Muslims to destroy America? We need to stand together as Democrats and Republicans. Now is not the time to fight, but to heal the country. We need to lower taxes to stimulate investments and we need to raise government spending on our brave troops. Everybody needs to share the burden, so we will cut some social programs, but look at all the jobs the defense industry will create!

Stand together with republicans, LoL. If there is one thing that dems shouldn't do!

I know that in these days it is harder and harder to distinguish satire and seriousness. I was trying to impersonate typical talking points of the DNC and other "liberals" (by US standards)

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 days ago

The DNC can eat shit and die. 🙂
