Mamdani’s defeat of Cuomo offers Democrats a path out of the wilderness [that they won't take]

Dems keep working with trump to approve his picks, but what they won't accept is that if you sit down at a table with nazis, the only thing that's changed is the number of nazis at the table. @[email protected]

"Mamdani's defeat of.." not "Mamdani's victory over.." - they really are reaching, aren't they?
A "Sexual harassment scandal" ? Not falsifying records and deliberately killing a whole bunch of old people? Not shutting down 1/3 of NYC's power input at the Indian Point NPP by caving to Secretary Brain Worms? Not generally being a corrupt quid-pro-quo creep?
The fact anyone voted for that mobbed up trash at all is concerning, especially given in private conversations all it's boiled down to is pure and simple racism. It's been made clear that there is now a critical and growing mass of people who are genuinely committed to working towards multiculturalism, who can respect their fellow human beings, and that there is a dwindling number of those who can't get over themselves enough to do better. These people are going to get increasingly vicious as their grip on power loosens. It's going to be difficult for those of us committed to doing better to keep ourselves clean, whilst we deal with mounting attacks from those who are of the mud, and will become more and more desperate in slinging it.
It's now up to everyone who supported Mamdani in the primaries to sustain their exceptional efforts, and carry this through the general election. The DNC will now do everything in their power to throw the general election, because they don't work for you, and they are cartoonishly petulant in the face of this perceived loss.
It's become impossible to ignore over the past week that a large number of them work for foreign interests instead, and that intersection between the specters of the 20th century geopolitics and local politics is the unfortunate political singularity point we're living through right now. The previous order is over - clintons, biden, cuomo and schumer got it badly wrong, resisted positive change, acted as despotic and irresponsible custodians of their duties to their constituents and are now paying the political price.
Expect to see similar themes playing out as democratic genocide apologists more focused on propping up a depraved, genocidal tottering international order vs. looking after their own taxpayers face deep public displeasure at their many and cavernous failures.
We need to get it right, and nobody is coming to help us - but for the first time in a while I feel like I got a breath of fresh air.
