Honestly it probably is. That’s the whole Russian method, sow dissent and make the other side hate and distrust each other. Find every division you can and build the “other” into an evil bogeyman. The fact people are even talking about this, means we are so fucked.
They've already normalised the idea enough that they're polling people about whether or not it should happen as if it's a totally valid question to ask. That shouldn't even be a question, the only response should be "no, fuck off, you can't do that". Once again the media are complicit in sanewashing and normalising this shit.
