Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

It's an old British Idiom far preceding Pink Floyd.

There is a bit of a Pink Floyd trend today: https://mander.xyz/post/27564901

Pudding is pudín in Spanish. Postre is dessert.

Yes. And the line in the song is about dessert. Pudding (UK English) = Dessert (US English)

Maybe the person translating didn't know it was the lyrics of a song. I don't know what song it is.

Yeah, seems like they tried to do a direct translation without accounting for the difference in the meaning of ‘pudding’ between UK and US English.

I think this entire calendar is direct translations. Other pages have seemed incorrect after I looked up unfamiliar words. Though my Spanish is not good enough to catch the errors most of the time.

Never before have I heard Spanish in a Scottish accent. My brain just tried it and I'm amused.

¡Tú! ¡Sí, tú! ¡Estarse quieta, chaval!

In my head I'm trying to yell it in that same rough accent. It sounds menacing.

I don't know if the Scottish guy saying it would have perfect pronunciation or not... Like if he said "quesadilla" would it be "kay-so-dee-ah" or "kay-suh-dill-uh?" 🤔

My brain is somehow hearing the original voice, just...in the Spanish I'm reading. Maybe that's why it sounds menacing haha
