Derail one, more like. Giving people a cathartic rally, yell some slogans, present fuck all in the way of alternatives.

Until they tell voters to ditch the democratic party outright, they're just sheepdogs doing what they're there to do.

If electoralism wasn't dead in the US before, it certainly is now. We're like 2 months in and Trump is already trying alter state run polling rules directly at the federal level by executive order.

I think it is hillarious that they are holding rallies without even presenting a plan. How stupid are people to keep faling for this. You can hold up a sign and scream some words against Trump. Come 2028 they find out that oopsie we did not work on any alternative movement, time to vote for Hillary again!

I know there are more pressing issues, but why is that person allowed to grab AOC's boob in the picture?

A mass movement for capitalist reformism?

That will end well.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

If they were in like a 200 mile radius of me, I'd go!

Heck I'd come out to a rally just to get a glimpse of AOC.

As a non-American, she is cute af.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

She do be cute af

I don’t hold scabs like AOC in such high regard.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Well, I didn't say I hold her in high regard, just that I'd like to get a glimpse of her.

They could become a mass movement if people are able to move past Sanders and AOC and start organizing under an org like PSL.

Let those horrible libs get what they deserve.
They are too dumbed down to know what's good for them and hate 'the left' even more than Trump.

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah. That'll fuckin' show 'em! I'm glad you're out there fighting on the streets for us!

A good surgeon needs to cut a part of healthy flesh to get all the cancer.
US is 95% rotten.
Unfortunately there is 5% collatoral dammage.
I can't help them, and certainly not the ones that buy the Bernie snake oil as a cure.

[–] yogthos@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 week ago

Indeed, I have very little sympathy for people who still haven't figured that democrats are just controlled opposition.

are they gonna ask you to vote your way out of fascism 😂

[–] Commiunism@beehaw.org 14 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

plot twist - they're gonna do a whole revolution just to go back to pre-trump liberal status quo with dems in charge + maybe some healthcare (dont count on it)

[–] Bloomcole@lemm.ee 5 points 1 week ago

Kids in democratic cages and only democratic drone strikes

[–] nfreak@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

They're gonna tell us to all vote for Gavin Newsom 💀

[–] Grapho@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 week ago

Best case scenario for libs. We all know if they rolled out Mike Pence as the Dem's nominee libs would get piss mad at you for voting for somebody you actually wish would win instead of the Electable Lesser Evil.

[–] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 week ago

yes they are 😂

[–] surph_ninja@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We’ve been through this before. Don’t fall for it. Learn from your mistakes.

They’re doing damage control for the Dems. People are leaving the party in droves, so they trotted out their token progressives to pretend the party can be reformed. They’re also floating the idea of starting a completely new party, which would presumably direct members to the Dems for elections, or else they’d be advocating joining with existing leftist parties.

Bernie & AOC also still fervently support the military industry. They’re both defending arming far right extremists and proxy wars.

a mass movement to bring back the conditions that led to the current state of affairs

old sheepdog goes woof

[–] nfreak@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Seriously. Like sure it's a half-decent start I guess, barely, but AOC and Sanders are still centrist liberals. Kicking the can down the road by keeping capitalism alive will get us right back here in the future.

It's incredibly depressing that this country is in a state where people genuinely believe these two are anywhere left of center

[–] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 33 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It needs to become a mass movement or it's game over for 'murca.

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 8 points 1 week ago

Better get on it then :-)

Get out your door and rally people who wouldn't normally be rallied. Get people who are fed up with politics being rubbish, excited about this new one! Bring 'murica a new vision, to a town or rural corner that B&A can't reach in person.

... Also I just realised that abbreviating Bernie Sanders' name is a bit awkward
