I’m concerned that if a referendum was conducted, the US could heavily interfere with public opinion and spread misinformation on how good it would be to leave Canada. And if the federal government shut down the referendum, the US would use that as an excuse to use their military to “liberate” Alberta.
Don't give this any legitimacy, look at what happened with Brexit...
US oligarchs want Canada's resources. Krasnov absolutely doesn't need anything from Canada, but Canada should absolutely join as 51st state, and he's willing to fight for our freedom and protect Canadians with weaponized economic policies aimed at us.
Suddenly, we're having a national election to choose between a Komplete Krasnov sellout and a finance bro. Krasnov supports the sellout. Then he supports the finance bro when asked to distance himself from the sellout because it's hurting his numbers in the polls.
Recent numbers show that our youngest citizens are falling for Krasnov’s 51st state rhetoric that is being trumpeted on his oligarchs' social media platforms. Poilievre wants to end dissent by de-funding our dissenting voice, the CBC. This would allow Krasnov’s state media to be the only media in Canada.
Don't fall for the lies out there. We absolutely need the CBC as the only national voice that's not beholden to the Krasnov oligarchs.
The older generation need to pay attention to that poll.
Confederation needs to be argued for.
We've had a history rejecting confederation for economic reasons see PEI and NFL.

As much as I wish she'd be investigated for treason, I don't think there's even a snowball's chance she'd get a conviction. Instead, I hope she'd get a proper investigation on corruption. There's plenty of evidence of that already, and tons of it is hard written into the policies she's tried to put into law.
Can’t we all contact our local representatives and ask them to take action? Isn’t that what they are for anyways? To represent us and our wants and needs?
If you live in Alberta, sure. But I think the rest of Canada is out of luck despite the damage she's doing to the entire country.

As much as I hate Doug Ford, every time he does something that pisses me off, Danielle Smith is right there like "hold my Kentucky Bourbon…"

Can't or won't run on solar, wind, and batteries? Alberta is widely regarded as an effective province for solar, and southern Alberta already has great wind options.
Smith is actively working against renewables. I could understand if we tried to expand either and it didn't pan out but it's getting stopped before it starts.
Plus with all the oil exploration, geothermal is actually promising as there are essentially hundreds of thousands of test holes we have data on.
She doesn’t care about any of those. She’s just adding another excuse to her pile of excuses to try and justify or trying casually to get people used to the idea of Alberta and America being tightly associated

What bugs me, is that I’m already annoyed she’s a traitor, but she’s also embarrassing us Canadians with her lack of knowledge, especially from someone who is supposed to be an educated elected leader and understand these issues but she really doesn’t and she doesn’t think about the future at all, she’s always just living in the present, as if nothing she does today will have an effect tomorrow.
I also don’t believe she understands what her actions are currently doing to her.

Another mistake of our slow transition to renewables, is the energy insecurity that occurs with fuel extortion. Solar (and batteries/electrolysis) has massively more lifetime energy content that justifies transportation costs without capital investments in dead ender energy, or tolerating politicians desperate to destroy planet by lying that it will be good for us.
Let's say that a referendum passed, how would that even work? Found this Supreme Court remark from Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin in 2014 when I was searching around for an answer of "is that even possible?", apparently the Feds referred that question to the scoc during the Quebec referendums in the 90s, (see section 5) and the answer seems to be, certainly not unilaterally (I'll read this in detail when I have a chance). The also touch on treaty rights which is my question as well, Alberta is like all treaty land, how would the indigenous land rights be handled? On top of that, as far as I recall there's a tonne of crown land in Alberta, again, how would that be handled?
I don't have answers to these, just something I think about when these rumblings come up. I have my doubts about the actual popularity of an Alberta sovereignty movement, and frankly Canada is stronger with them than without, like with Québec it would be a loss to the federation.
You're right that secession can't be a unilateral declaration of "we keep all federal assets". I don't believe that native treaties are as difficult as they are made out to be. = "they keep all rights they enjoyed from previous federal government" seems possible.
A fair secession process/referendum should also include a 2nd/3rd referendum for counties/cities to declare their own independence from province, and then join another country. Where humanist principle of self determination is being invoked in secession, its humanist principle all the way down.
