Because bombing the Houthis for terrorism or attacking Gulf states/western interests has been the status quo for over a decade.

I've heard it called Operation Amazon Prime, which is pretty hilarious. But only like 10% of global trade even goes by this area, even less of you're just considered direct US trade. Combine that with the context from that Signal chat and it's clear they bombed Yemen just because Trump wants to.
They are bombing Yemen, because the houthis are attacking our boats. Transportation ships. Never fuck with US international commerce.
In the text thread, they admit only 4% of US trade goes through the Red Sea. They question whether or not they should do it using that number, along side the EU’s 40% trade.
They even admit to NOT wanting to do it for the very purpose of hurting Europe.
But you go ahead and keep shining those boots with your throat.
You: “kill babies because I need my Nikes.”

The bombing is worse, but using signal instead of official communication channels is still really fucking serious. They want to plan and commit war crimes and avoid any responsibility for it by trying to keep it from ever getting under public scrutiny.
Especially since this is what was caught. Considering how brazen it is, and how those involved are trying to worm out if it, you have to wonder if there's similar or worse going on that flew under the radar because a journalist wasn't accidentally roped in.
I mean, Houthis have been striking passing civilian ships with missiles and kidnapped people. Not terribly concerned they got shot back tbh.
They were fulfilling their obligation under international law to prevent genocide, hence why they stopped when Israel stopped the genocide, and resumed after Israel resumed it.
The question should be why every other country isn't doing this.
Not sure lobbing missiles at civilian ships and kidnapping their crews was the way to go.
Well, in any case, if you start firing missiles at other you can't be all the surprised if people start firing back.

I agree with you that kidnapping & killing civilians is not the way to go for any group. But do you see how your statement applies the same way to Isreal & the US?
Well yes, they expected the US to kill a bunch of civilians to protect Israel, as the US did during the previous blockade.
