Jam Roly Poly with custard!

Only other things I can vividly remember were turkey twizzlers and luncheon meat - and I think I might've liked both of them...

My granny was a school dinner lady, so she always brought me home chocolate sponge and pink custard.

I've never seen pink custard since primary school dinners.

It isn't really custard either. It's pink blancmange mix with lots of milk.

Toffee cream tart was my favorite from primary school. However most of my memories were bad ones of being forced to eat everything on the plate including the gristle.

That sounds good. The toffee tart bit not the gristle

Probably seems strange, but I remember loving the lentil soup my school did. It was probably one of the few choices that was made fresh, so that probably helped. I also loved the caramel cake.

Weirdly it was the lamb chops my primary school did, they came from the aluminum tray pre sliced to about 4-5mm, dripping in gravy and were beyond tender. I have no idea they did them but they had no right being as good as they were.

Part of me fondly remembers turkey twizzlers, then another part of me remembers losing my first tooth to one and crunching it... I also imagine they're revolting in a way that only a small child could enjoy.

Oh also iced buns

Oh those lamb chops sound goooood. I'm guessing they were slow cooked or something

Ah the custard at my school was rank! I envy you.
