I'm fairly certain it'll be Checo alongside whatever young American driver has enough of both marketability and super license points. Maybe Colton Herta?
Idk how Herta isn't choice 1a. It just fits. 2nd driver is harder. Perez seems like a good choice; has been with a top team recently, had good sponsor money, and could feasibly have some good input on F1 operations. Plus he helps bridge the Mexican fanbase to the team, which is nice geographically.
Danny Ric as the honorary American? Maybe with Yuki or Checo or Kmag? I doubt they're gonna go with a real rookie
I hope Danny ricc. He's such a good logical choice. And in his latest winery ad he stated that with his exit of F1 he's taking a "Summer Break" which fills me with copium that he'll be back in some capacity
If they sign me I'll pledge to have a new, funny Trump insult prepared for each race.
Yes, the driving would be atrocious and the 107% rule would be working overtime, but the viewers would get a better feel for the skill gap between a regular dude and an F1 driver.
Crofty: He's stalled the engine 11 times now, still not out of the garage - this is painful and yet fascinating to watch
I've seen some interesting predictions about that recently, some youtuber even suggested Perez and Magnussen with no American driver which had me question reality a bit.
I think Perez seems very likely at this point. And for the American driver, they have multiple options from Indycar.
Cadillac said they werenโt going to bring in a driver based on nationality.
George Russell and whatever American from Indie car they can find who looks competitive - I don't know Indie car, so no idea who they are. That way, you get both experience from George and a popular driver in the Indie car guy.
Sonny Hayes, he's old but he'll get the job done /s
In all seriousness, gotta get some yanks in there. Or Colapinto if he doesn't have a drive. Jak Crawford maybe, or Zane Maloney was great in f2.
I don't really know the Indy Nxt drivers... Miles Rowe perhaps?
I'll be quite disappointed if they do bring checo back, he's had his time in the sun.
