Crazy they owned most of the land in the country at one point and chose to be a walmart instead of a bank

Even so, they could have taken their Scrooge McDuck pile of money and pivoted into online retail. Hell they could have been the Amazon of Canada. But no, they just stuck to the old, failing business model of brick and mortar shopping mall stores and refused to learn or change anything.
