Read it twice. Not sure what the catch is. Is it that signatures gathering must be done by Florida residents?

the catch is the 2 years of maga rule that must happen first before anything can be put to a vote. Remember when the Florida state legislature set the pass threshold to 60% instead of 50% on all ballot amendments because they feared a marijuana amendment might pass some day? They're openly not even doing democracy anymore. The apathy towards this when it happened was astounding its like no one was even upset about it. I don't even live in Florida and I'm still seething about it.

By the time 2026 comes around, if Florida ballot measures are still a thing at all there will probably be a special provision to ban marijuana related ballot amendments.
