I got banned, and I think permanently.

How do I undo it?

Who do I contact and profusely apologize to?

hey idk if this helps but I got banned for the same reason in DS1 like three years ago and reached out with a support ticket to Bandai Namco and they unbanned me :)

You can't.

You wait until the game is on sale and then you buy another copy if you really want.

Or you play with the coop mod with friends.

Sorry!

I was using mods without realizing that I was using the online component.

I was using an ultrawide mod when playing online and after a while I got a message about a ban. As long as I didn't continued using it I could still play online. I think FromSoft doesn't outright ban you unless you're cheating, so try to play again without mods. Common bans are like at worst 2 weeks if I'm not mistaken, and small bans could also be character based. Tho I could be wrong, it's been a while since I looked up how their ban works and I'm mostly going from memory from how DS3 was.

Yeah you are screwed. Japanese cie don't give a flogging flock about it, you can try and contact them but they will not do anything.

If you really want to play with the online component, get it on another service like epic or somesuch but ... it's a lot of money to counter their fascistic right to mess with what you paid for ...
