This tweet was kinda vague but it got me thinking, what if we got an alternate pacifist ending to Minecraft how should it be? In my opinion I think It would be something that needs ingenuity instead of a fighting challenge you go out of the end island by building a bridge or flying machine you find a structure with unbreakable blocks go through hard challenges that require thinking but in the end you won't find any treasure or regular end portal frames instead you need to craft blocks from a crafting table that was in there, and put them in unusual looking frames, the blocks would be unnamed to signify that you're creating something new something you alone could make and name it you'd probably have the ability to make it into any color texture or shape you like then no matter what ingredient you could make only 12 if you go back and kill the dragon they disappear so you have to make to make a choice, it would be a nice and kinda poetic ending to Minecraft.

Would be kind of cool if these existed in end cities rarely perhaps? But might mess with some dynamics.

Wouldnt an end portal in the end just take you to the end+1, Which would just provide a hit and damage bonus to all the Endermen+1 and Dragon+1?

No it leads to the overworld actually you can test that yourself though this isn't your regular "end" portal if that even it's name

How would you get the Eyes of Ender?

Edit: never mind, I read your post properly this time.

you can actually have the dragon still alive and have the portal open, you could even freeze the dragon in mid air and also have the portal open

Yeah but those are shenanigans , I do appreciate it though.

Personally I like the idea of killing the dragon at the end and adding an alternate ending would probably cheapen that imo

Not really, it's harder to do than regular end fight since the ender dragon is still a danger to you.

  • You go out of the End Island by building a bridge or flying machine
  • you find a structure with unbreakable blocks
  • go through hard challenges that require thinking

In the End, you won't find any treasure or regular End Portal frames. Instead, you need to craft blocks from a crafting table that was in there, and put them in unusual looking frames. The blocks would be unnamed to signify that you're creating something new, something you alone could make and name. You'd probably have the ability to make it into any color texture or shape you like then, no matter what ingredient. You could make only 12. If you go back and kill the dragon they disappear so you have to make to make a choice It would be a nice and kinda poetic ending to Minecraft.

It's cool, jestin' :D

It'd be nice to have a pacifist ending, killing a dragon doesn't really fit with the whole game but then again it's not the true end

One of my hot takes is that the End was one of the worst additions to Minecraft. That and the Elytra which comes with it.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, I agree with the elytra bit in that it's frustrating you not really exploring the world but rather just skipping over everything. But at the same time I don't use elytra when I play so I can't really say I wish it never existed; there's always the option to not use something but I wish they'd used the same development time to make something else.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I'm thinking more of the multiplayer aspect tbh. I ran a server once and banned elytra, and people whined about it a lot.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I think if other people like it a lot then it works for them, part of liking Minecraft for me is traveling but I don't think everyone has that and just want to get one with building or finding a structure

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago

Granted it was geopolitical and the map was like 6k big

Plus giving the player a wider range of choices is the most Minecraft thing you could do.

We have decided to remove pacifism from the 1.69 update as it has come to our attention that it can be potentially harmful to conquistadors.
