I decided it would be better if we stayed friends, though I would still support and help him. Maybe if he starts liking my interests and becomes more mentally well, we could date again but for now IDK.

Given your recent posts?

No. Just go no contact. They're 24 years old. They're going to cry. Breakups usually hurt, and that's ok. It's ok to hurt sometimes.

He is not your responsibility to fix. He didn't respect you or your interests to begin with. If he's worth breaking up with it's worth just going no contact.

Thanks so much, he didn't even seem that upset when we broke up

Don't concern yourself with whether or not a person seemed upset in the moment. People process things differently, especially if they're depressed.

Thank you, I get it

Lol. I'm glad you decided that. I'm for he'll fall right in line.

I don't understand the question if there is one. Anyway, be honest and be nice and be understanding. IMHO it's important to let some level of communication stay open (say an occasional phone call) but it's ok to limit it to that if you need to for your own mental health. Whether you can be actual friends depends on both of you, and might require waiting a while first.

Clean break. It's best for everyone. You already know what you need. Putting conditions here will not help him get well.

You got this, dude. It’s probably for the best

Nah, just dump him and be done with it. You’re not responsible for him and he’s not going to change.
