Why would I want to pay more for a downgraded, spying monitor when I could just have a good, normal one?

I'd like more reviews of specifically not-smart monitors, or at least some discussion about how much trouble it is to not allow the monitor to be connected.

Another user recently mentioned that their's nagged them constantly until they finally let it connect. That'd be useful behavior to know about, for people who don't want their TVs spying on them.
