Businessbro making ignorant claims to oppress workers with no scientific evidence to back them up? I'm shocked, well not that shocked.
I've worked with people like this before, they're often some of the least productive individuals in the company. They take twelve hours to do what most people do in six and are constantly dicking around and dragging things out because they don't want to go home, because they don't have a life outside of work.
I'd feel sorry for the guy if he didn't want to make everyone else as miserable as him.

How long can you stare at your wife?” the chairman of Larsen & Toubro asked. “Come on, get to the office and start working.”
Subrahmanyan further gave the example of his interaction with a Chinese person who claimed China can beat the United States of America. Asked why that is, the Chinese man claimed that Chinese people work 90 hours a week, while Americans work only 50 hours a week.
“So that’s the answer for you. If you have got to be on top of the world.. You have to work 90 hours a week. Get going, guys. Come on,” he said.
"Who even needs freedom? You eat and sleep, you might as well do that here! Not on our dime of course, you can't leave either though. Just take 10 minutes once a day, eat, and go back to work! It's a fulfilling life to enrich people like me!"
90 / 7 = 12.86 hours a day, every day.
In America that would be 50 hours of overtime.

I don't know about hate, but most marriages in India are still arranged, which gives you about a 0.01% of being with someone who you would be naturally drawn to. So I'd say there's a fairly low likelihood that he was ever in love with her.
When people are deeply unhappy in home, they tend to not want to be there. Imposing your sad dysfunction on other people is the problem here,
