This is Mario Day, no one told them to announce shit just ignore it. They made a press release.
Also yeah Wonder came out but I hated it.
same here, I've played hundreds of hours of Odyssey but the 2d platformers I will barely make it through to the end credits. For a company that produces as many games as Nintendo I think it's reasonable to consider the 2d and 3d mario platformers different series and hold them to independent expectations.
in any case though they're definitely holding off odyssey 2 until the next console release at this point ๐ซค
Another reason to dislike them, yuzu all the way anymore.
I loved the wii and wii U 2D games and the original 4 2D home console games are legitimate classics I hold dear. But wonder missed the mark in a lot of ways, felt boring and somehow both meandering and too short.
It was mentioned before that Nintendo prefers to release only one installment of game on each console. Not a very strict rule, I guess, but still, chances of 2nd 3D Mario on current Switch have always been very low.
Personally, I don't think we will get any major new release on Switch now, but I won't mind being proved wrong.
