Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Honestly, I've felt like that since the first time I went to the US as an adult back in 2007. When flying between Canada and Europe or East Asia, I've also actively avoided having connection flights through the states, even when it would save me hundreds of dollars.

I've never met anyone as condescending and threatening as a US border agent.

I've been avoiding the US since the legislation passed in the aftermath of 9/11 meant that the TSA could arbitrarilly confiscate your computer or mobile phone at the border for no reason other than feeling like it.

The US has been sliding towards Authoritarianism for quite a while now.

Went for a trip in the late 2000's, was a bit nervous approaching the border guard but then he is cracking jokes with me. Chuckled nervously and went on.

Then I went back 10 years later for a conference, got sorted out at the border control but only in a separate lane where they asked me more questions than others. Almost missed my connecting flight because of that.
