We're getting the gang back together!
Trish Walker coming too? Luke Cage next? Return of Rosario Dawson to the MCU? Misty Knight? Do we recast the Iron Fist?
So many opportunities. I'm excited.
Why do they need to recast Iron Fist?
I'm not confident they do, it's just sort of an open question. We had a light reference to a "new" Iron Fist in an episode of What If...? But not one that would interfere with the current one.
I think Finn Jones can still do it, but I would in if we got a new one.
Yeah, I get crazy looks when I say it, but I think the problem with the Iron Fist show was the writing and not the actor. Finn Jones was great (with what he was given)!
The writing was awful but a truly great actor can still find a way to elevate a bad script. Finn Jones does OK when Danny's written to be more charismatic. But when Danny's written as angry... I just don't think Jones does that emotion well. Not in GoT as Loras, and not in the MCU as Danny. He overacts it and underacts it at the same time, somehow. Facially he kinda gurns, and vocally he plays it flat. And that's a pretty big gap in the armor, acting-wise. Anger's one of the big ones, dramatically speaking.
Ike Perlmutter setup that show to fail.
For a superhero that uses martial arts as one of his main weapon, he's really bad at doing it. Either the choreography is bad (which I don't believe so looking at Daredevil), or he can't execute it
Didn't he "forget" to get any training for the first season?
There was a weird smear campaign against him about that but it wasn't true - multiple people (including the actor) detailed his training regimen.
So it was just bad choreography? Seems strange that it's so much worse for this one show. Though if I'm honest, the first season was really ass in all aspects
Agreed.
Recast Iron Fist if you need to, as long as Jessica Henwick comes back as Colleen Wing.
