I don't know any readings about it. Sorry. I hope someone else can help. I only have a gist of what went on after the collapse of the USSR by hearing about it from here and there. The anecdotes about pensions being wiped out, massive inflation and evisceration of public services are well known and its effects are shown well by simple stats like avg life expectancy.
Oh no worries, I know there was a massive drop in life expectancy when the Soviet Union was dismantled but I just hadn't heard of mass murder during glastnost and perestroika
