Got my Glock 19 Gen5 MOS and Smith & Wesson M&P Sport III AR-15. Should I build up my kit in other areas now, or should I also get a 12 gauge shotgun?

I agree with most everything here.

A solid Medkit/IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit) should be your next purchase easily.

Then Battle belt > Survival Gear/Bug out pack > Upgrade to plate carrier/chestrig

But if you think you're going to pickup hunting or your home defense situation changes, I'd get a shot gun after the Medkit

Also Training + Ammo is always a given.
